The City of Laguna Beach also manages 20 parks. Some include: tennis courts, play equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, picnic areas, beautiful vista points, and public artists work. There are over six miles of Laguna coastline with 30 public beaches and unique coves. Summer lifeguard service is provided by the City at some swimming beaches. Most parks and beaches can be accessed by the City Transit Bus.
There are also 19,000 acres of coastal wilderness, parks, open space, and marine preserves surrounding Laguna Beach. Here, you can often find people walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, bird-watching, and performing nature study.
